You have probably heard of the importance of living life in the present moment. But, have you ever been told why?
The answer is simple. Although there are several benefits that will come out of living in the
present, the greatest of them all is Peace of Mind. I talk about it extensively in my program
on peace. Click here to get the FREE version of my program.
Living in the present moment is not very easy, one tends to immediately slip out of it and
begin living in the past or the future. Whenever this happens, just be aware of the moment
and try to bring back your focus on the present moment, the NOW moment. God resides in
the present. If you can master this you will begin to know God rather than what most know
is about God.
Living in the present moment comes with a lot of benefits.
1) Living in the present improves one’s social skills: If you are one of those who find it
tough interacting with people, always wondering what to say or how to say, being in
the present moment will surely be a great help to you. Your focus automatically gets
diverted to the person in front of you, and all nervous thoughts about the past and
the future are taken away. Imagine talking to your best friend, you are never worried
and nervous as to what to say. This is because you bring your mind into the present,
which is a comfort zone and then begin your conversations.
2) Brings out the best of your creativity: If you are one of those with creative talents
like writing, drawing, art and crafts, sculpturing you will perform best when you do
these things in the present moment. You bring out the best in you when you have
nothing else on your mind. Living away from present moments, creates limiting
mental blocks that will shut off creativity.
3) You begin to see goodness in everything: Living in the present moment helps you to
appreciate more. You will stop analysing your life or the life of others and live each
day as it comes. Just go outdoors, tune into life as it is happening and observe things
around you, your mind will catch the attention of trees, animals, people and things,
all of which will look more beautiful than they otherwise do. Try it out..!
4) Less worry and stress: Connecting with the present moment clears your mind from
all the unwanted thoughts that are running in your head. If you find it tough to let go
of the several thoughts running in your mind then just sit where you are with your
eyes closed and take ten deep breaths. Focus your attention on each breath. This will
instantly shift you into the present.
5) You’ll be more cheerful: Living in the present simply keeps you happy. This mainly
happens because we stop worrying. Living in the present makes you realise that life
is happening to you right now and you’d want to make the most of it. You feel in
control of things that happen to you thus making you instantly happy and cheerful.
