7 Life Changing Benefits of Journaling Daily

We are all writing all through our lives on a daily basis. We either do it when we write out a work email, create an invoice, text a friend, make a shopping list and so on. If you go back to your school days you will recollect that you were always encouraged to write. Writing has several physical and mental benefits. If you take down notes, you are twice more likely to remember stuff than the people who do not take down notes at all.
All successful people in life write and maintain a journal. Journaling has a great impact on one’s life and this practice results in a lot of positives which I’d like to discuss today.

1) Journaling helps you keep track of positive insights that hit you through your day: We human beings have numerous thoughts that come to our minds through the day. Some of them may be inspiring while others might be ones we’d like to forget. Your thoughts are driving forces that help you create the life that you desire. Very often we let our positive creative thoughts that could have a profound impact on our lives simply pass by. Journaling helps you record these thoughts, you can go back to them anytime later and use these thoughts to better your life or find solutions to the challenges that you face.

2) Journaling can help you fulfil your goals: The first step of achieving your goals is writing them down. Writing your goals for the day at the beginning of each day or the night before on your journal will help you achieve them faster. When you write down your goals and read them out, they get rooted in your subconscious mind which is an important place for manifesting goals.

3) Journaling will help you prevent repeating mistakes from the past: Once you get into a practice of daily journaling, you will have recorded both your pleasant and unpleasant experiences. If you are faced with the same unpleasant experience in the future you can always go back to your diary and check out how you dealt with them before. Recording such events will help you find solutions to overcome the unpleasantness and not let it affect yourself.

4) Journaling helps organise your thoughts: We have various aspects of our lives like family life, work life, spiritual life, personal life and so on. Through the day we get caught up with a lot of stuff in each of these aspects and we juggle with handling them effectively. Journaling about these various aspects of life can get you more organised and find a balance of time to deal with them all.

5) Releasing Toxic feelings: Journaling can work as a great de-stressor. We often choose the wrong mediums like social media or playing video games to let go off our thoughts. Ideally, it is a good practice to note down all negative thoughts and try and find a relation between the thoughts and the cause of the thoughts. Once you have it on paper you’ll be able to work on a plan to eliminate the causes of these toxic thoughts.

6) Journaling helps practice gratitude: I’ve always advocated the practice of being grateful for 5 or more things that happen to you every day and writing them down in your journal. In my program Peace of Mind can be Yours if Only You Will Receive it I have gone into the details of how one can find love and peace by simply being grateful. Make it a habit to practice gratitude each day and see the wonders it makes for your life.

7) Journaling helps build self-discipline: Journaling every day is a form of self-discipline by itself. When you journal about life you basically are creating a roadmap to living it. You will be bound to take action and inculcate discipline in achieving your goals. Start journaling today, all you need is a book and pen. Journaling will help you understand yourself. Start slow but start TODAY..!
