Happiness is not found it is created. In fact happiness does not come naturally to most. If
you are one of those then you must work towards achieving happiness. I’ve worked with
several clients over the last few years and most of them have a common goal of being
happy. My satisfaction lies in teaching people to be happy through the programs that I’ve
created. You can check out my programs on www.mariosequeira.org most of them are
absolutely FREE.
Here are my top tips which when practised for 21 days in a row will help you achieve
happiness:
1) Get into the habit of planning: Planning helps you organise your thoughts and goals
in a structured manner. Never start a day without a plan. Make it a point to list down
actionable goals for the day and evaluate your progress in completing them at the
end of each day. Planning enables you to set up milestones and upon crossing these
milestones you get a sense of achievement and the resultant happiness.
2) Visualise positivity: Just after you write down your goals for the day, visualise
yourself completing them. This will help you stay motivated and focussed on your
goals. Visualizing positive outcomes of situations will keep your dreams alive and
make you happy along the way.
3) Identify your strengths and trust them: It is very important to not only understand
your strengths but also your weaknesses. All of us are blessed with things that we
are good at. We need to trust our capabilities and capitalize on our strengths. At the
same time, we need to be aware of our weaknesses so that we can ask for guidance
and help when required. When we become the masters of our strengths and
weaknesses we attract happiness and success.
4) Practice acceptance: Not everything is going to go our way. At times things will not
go as per our expectations. When such situations occur, we must accept what comes
our way and move on. Resisting the reality won’t change it, so learn to let go and
accept things that are not in your control. Acceptance will bring you happiness.
5) Live in the present: Everything happens in the present moment. The past is our
memory and the future is our imagination and both should not trouble the present.
Living in the present frees us from the unnecessary baggage of the past and the
worry of the future and instantly puts you in a better place.
6) Forgive often: Forgiving people who have hurt you does more good to you than to
them. Forgiveness releases resentment and negativity that has been bottled up
inside of you. Make it a habit to forgive all those who have wronged you and you’ll
immediately be filled with happiness.
7) Care for yourself: Take care of yourself. You are God’s unique creation. If you take
care of your body and mind you will be infused by the spirt of happiness and success
always. Get one hour of exercise for your body each day. Spend time in meditation
to calm your mind. Get fresh air and eat healthy.
All these little habits will turn you into a happy, cheerful, positive thinking human
being who looks forward to living a long and contented life.
