5 Ways to Find Inspiration in Your Daily Life

Many clients of mine have expressed to me that getting through life each day can quite often be very discouraging and even depressing. Life is not always encouraging or inspiring but we can put in that extra effort to make it happen. If you happen to hit a wall mentally are see yourself in a not too pleasant situation try some of the easy hacks that I have listed below.

1) Wake up early: Start waking up 30 mins earlier than you usually do. This process will help you get into the right headspace to have an excellent day. After waking up get into a routine of either meditation, exercising or going for walk in nature. After you are done, sit quietly and enjoy a nice cup of tea or coffee, if you do not have any of those, have a fresh juice. This early morning routine will set you to feel inspired for the day ahead.

2) Cut off all the distractions: You might not have noticed it but being on social media, attending phone calls, regularly checking your mail can be a very distracting habit and can affect productivity negatively. Try tuning out of all of this for a stretch of 2 hours and see how much you will manage to achieve. Seeing yourself having such a productive day in itself will be an inspiration.

3) Do something for yourself once a week: You got to find ways to put yourself first. Do something you like once a week. Do it for yourself. Go out and try a new restaurant or watch a movie; this will put you in a positive frame of mind and leave you inspired to continue to do this more often. Make sure to reserve one day a week to treat yourself. Like I always say, “You got to learn to love yourself”.

4) Team up with others: Being all by yourself can get very boring. Find what we call a power team of like-minded people to work with. Together you’ll be inspired to do more with the amount of energy generated through each others sharing of ideas.

5) Read and watch something inspiring and motivational: Do not get engrossed in just watching the daily news several times a day or your favourite series the whole day, this content can be counter productive and often very depressing. Instead, read and watch something inspiring. Go through self help material. Read about the interesting lives of successful people. Such stuff will leave you focussed and inspired.
