Catch up with Your Missed 2020 Goals in 2021

I write this out in February. It is still early days for 2021. The time for making empty new year resolutions is over! This is the time when reality hits and one realises that all 2021 plans, even those made on the 1st Jan 2021 have been forgotten. Pause and look back. The good thing is that the year is still just beginning and it is never too late to overcome the shortcomings of 2020 even if 2020 has been a terrible year for you. Below I have shared with you thoughts on how you could actually pick up from where you left/lost, in 2020 and move on to a great 11 months ahead.

1) Let go of all guilt: It is easy to judge yourself for not being successful last year. You could judge yourself a failure. But by berating yourself for too long you are only going to put yourself into a negative spiral taking you lower and lower into a pit of self-admonition. You will lose all your self-confidence which is one of the most important attributes required if you are to recover from your present situation. Instead of admonishing yourself look at all the goals that you failed to accomplish in the last year. Dispassionately figure out what stopped you from accomplishing them. Then eliminate all you can which came in the way of you achieving your goals.

2) Be 100% Committed to Your Goals in 2021: Consistency is a commonly touted word. It is however extremely important if you are to succeed. When you don’t give your 100% towards achieving a goal, you invariably fail. Once you have decided what you undoubtedly want to accomplish, make a 100% effort towards achieving it. Implement a daily, weekly, and monthly planning system that will help you track the achievement of your goals at all points of time and not just at the beginning of the year.

3) Do Not Underestimate The Time Required: Never underestimate the time required to achieve a goal. Commit to spending the required amount of time on your goal each week. First list out your resources and then make good use of all the resources you have like time, money, people, ideas and technology in a timely manner. Make a timetable that has your goals in it and stay focussed on the time needed to accomplish them.

4) Implement a Time Management System: Use an online or offline calendar that will help you keep track of how much of time you need to spend on each goal. If possible eliminate whatever frivolous time consuming activities you may be involved in . Set your to-do list for the next day at night before going to bed in order not to waste time planning out your day in the mornings. Mornings are meant for execution and this can be done when you have your to-do list ready the previous night.

We do not know what 2021 is going to be like. But if we condition ourselves well, we can achieve the most from all of it. Go through my website www.mariosequeia.org and check out all the content that is available there for you to have a great 2021.
