How to Brighten Your Mornings

If you are one of those who wakes up and prays and hopes that your day goes as per you’re your plans then count yourself as one among lucky few who does so. You have ahead of you a day full off potential and opportunity. The secret is to get hold of your mornings so that the rest of your day goes as per your plan. Here are a few tips to help you brighten up your mornings:

1) Have a reminder by your beside table: A great way to start your day would be to have notes as reminders by your bedside table or even in your mobile. I for one use my iPhones Siri to set reminders. These tiny notes or reminders help put you off onto a good start. Taking things a step further list out your life’s top 3 priorities and keep this paper in a prominent place on your study or office table where you will be able to see it often. Every time you gaze at it your brain is alerted of your need ambition and so you automatically begin to work towards target.

2) Give one genuine compliment: Start your day by giving out genuine compliments to the people you meet early in the day. It maybe your partner, your co-worker, your boss or just about anyone. You could compliment someone for their taste in music, or their dress, style, a haircut or just the way they arrange their desk .

3) Positivity over breakfast: You may find this difficult to believe but I don’t read the newspapers! I keep myself abreast of the news by connecting on Twitter and getting into details only if I feel something important is happening around. After reading newspapers and also following new on television for many many years I concluded that they are just sensational and negative. They have to be sensational and negative because that is what sells. Avoid new papers and the Tv so as not to read or watch the depressing negative news, especially in the morning as it will be a negative way to start your day. Instead, read a couple of uplifting blogs, or if possible have a warm conversation with your loved ones around the breakfast table.

4) Workout: A little bit of exercise is great for everyone. You can train with weights or use your body weight or do yoga or go for a swim or at least take a small walk. Do whatever makes you break a light sweat and stay healthy. Ideally you should get a minimum of 30 minutes of exercise each day to be fit and fine but I say if you cant do 30 then do whatever you can but please do.

5) Do the most important task of your day first: Many professionals prefer getting through with the easier work first leaving the more difficult stuff for later. This is far from the best way to begin your day. When you get to work, start off the day by doing the most important task for the day. Once done with it, you will feel lighter all through the day thus making you more efficient. It gives you a sense of accomplishment.

Win over your mornings by getting into the habit of practicing the above. You will have great days ahead full of joy and productivity.
