As humans we all falter. We make mistakes and at times keep repeating them leading us to
repeatedly stumble and fall. While it is quite normal for us to be making mistakes, what is
important is being able to hold on to ourselves when we fall. If you are one of those who
gets stuck and quits on missions as soon as you make a mistake then read on. You must get
out of this very negative approach that will keep you from reaching major milestones in
your life.
Today I bring to you few ways by which you can quickly pick yourself up when you stumble.
1) Be your own best friend: It is okay to feel annoyed or disappointed when you fail.
But learn to avoid beating yourself up for it. Be kind and supportive to yourself. Ask
yourself, “How a friend or your parent would help you in such a situation”. Then
start doing the things you would hear a friend or your parent tell you to do in this
scenario.
2) Have you learnt the lesson?: A mistake is not permanent. It is a temporary situation
that we need to overcome. Be optimistic and constructive about the situation and
ask yourself if you have learned anything from the debacle. There will always be
some good in any situation, however hopeless it may look or feel.
3) Take small steps forward: If you are down dust yourself and get up as quickly as
possible. Ask yourself, what tiny steps could be taken to start the recovery process.
Take one small step after another and begin the return of the dragon! You will have
to stay focussed and motivated to win over the situation. The secret is to be
consistent.
4) Learn a new skill: Identify why you had the fall. Very often it could be because you
were lacking in a skill or knowledge. Make the time to immediately learn the
particular skill and gain the necessary knowledge to overcome similar obstacles that
will surely come along the future. We all make mistakes but to repeat the same
mistake twice is criminal. There is a saying that says ‘even God may find it difficult to
forgive the same mistake when made twice!’
5) Get a life coach: One quick route to recovery is to hire a life coach. While it may look
unnecessary at first the truth is that a life coach could be quite transformational. Life
is such you are either growing or de-growing. You can’t be stationary! If you are not
moving forward then you have to be sliding down backward. There is no third way.
Mentoring or coaching is for those people who want guidance on the way forward
either because they are successful but stuck or just because they want to grow and
need guidance. Get in touch with me today, I can catapult you to a completely new
level of success that you have never dreamt of !
