Homebound during this lockdown? Here are some wellness tips to be fit and healthy while at home.

A lot of us are forced to remain home due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The lockdown has surely had its effect on all of our exercise routines. You’d probably be one of those who used to go gyming, cycling and swimming and can now no longer do so, thus reducing your levels of fitness and well-being. We cannot afford to let self-isolation or social distancing come in the way of our fitness. Do remember staying fit can be critical for your very survival since it builds up immunity. I am delighted to give you simple tips that will help you stay healthy and happy while at home.

  • Stay Active: You can start by doing basic stretches to loosen up your body. Bodyweight exercises like push-ups, sit-ups, crunches and jumping jacks will help you gain strength. Practice basic yoga poses like the mountain pose, downward dog, warrior poses, the tree pose, the bridge pose and so on.   • Connect with friends: In-person meetups are off the table for a while and so we might develop feelings of loneliness. The human spirit longs for connections and hence we can resort to online meeting platforms like whatsapp, skype, zoom, facebook manager and so on. Even though difficult do not lose out completely on the personal human touch. We are social beings and will never be satisfied only with the virtual world.
  • Learn something new: Utilize this time to build a better you. Introspect on all the areas of your life like your family, career, relationships and so on. Identify any areas that may require healing and transformation.
