Life may not always go the way we want it to. You may fail or falter but that is quite normal
even for the best. When this happens don’t get too hard on yourself. One of the best ways to
stay motivated and keep progressing is to be self-kind. Practicing self-kindness could keep you
on your path to success and catapult you to unexpected peaks. Whatever happens you need to
be able to love yourself first.
First stop doing these things:
1) Lowering your self esteem: Failure is likely to make your self-esteem take a dip. You
could begin to thinking that you do not deserve success. This will lead to you being
frustrated with yourself. Make sure to stop doing this immediately.
2) Stop having fun: After being harsh on yourself you shouldn’t stop having fun and take
the joy out of doing stuff what you used to enjoy doing. Left unchecked this willmake
you begin to dread doing those things that you used to like to. This is a very bad area to
get into.
3) Your performance deteriorates: When you are too harsh on yourself it affects your
performance and productivity. You become unsure and begin to procrastinate more
often and work just does not get done.
Practice doing the following things instead:
1) Make yourself aware to avoid the above: Remind yourself how bad it is for you to be
harsh on yourself and how it affects your work and your relationships.
2) Set higher standards for yourself: Do not get influenced by the negative news, social
media or movies, most of the things there are exaggerated and sometimes not even
true. Do not set unrealistic goals, go for smarter goals that are achievable. We are all not
perfect and shouldn’t feel rejected only because of our human imperfections.
3) What can you learn from setbacks?: There is so much to learn from all our failures.
There is something or the other that will help you find reason as to why you will not
repeat the same mistake again. Identify it and do just that.
4) Celebrate small moments: Do not take anything for granted. Celebrate all that is
achieved by you. You can achieve anything you set your eyes on and just do that. No
achievement is too small. So go ahead and do your best.
I am an internationally renowned author, speaker and soulful teacher who works a lot in the
field of self-development. I discovered a widespread need for the principles of self-discovery
and personal growth, and seek to take these ideas to a wider audience.
I felt a shift occur in my thinking that led me to explore the psychological and spiritual aspects
of the human experience. I have overcome many big obstacles in my life. Was a chain smoker
who was absolutely obese at 117 kilos and financially almost went bankrupt. Having more than
reversed all of this, I spend much of my time in a mentoring program I started to help my clients
make their dreams come true.
All of us have the potential to live an extraordinary life.
