How to Create a Regular Lockdown Routine

We all have been isolated during these periodic lockdowns. This isolation has thrown up a lot of challenges life especially on the health and well-being front. It has disrupted life and thrown away our usual routines. Not having a regular routine can lead to feeling anxious and depressed. You must find a way to come up with a routine that will serve you well during these lockdowns. I want to make certain that you keep to your schedules so that you balance your life and live well.

1) Make a to-do list: Make a list of things to plan your day. It is important you make this list the previous night so you can start following it from the moment you wake up the next day. Tick off whatever you complete so that you can keep a track of what you have accomplished. Make sure your list is as detailed as possible.
- Exercise
- Meditate
- Shower and dress up
- Go shopping where possible
- Work time should be sacrosanct as far as possible.
- Relaxation time shouldn’t be compromised!

2) Fixed meal times: When life was normal and we went out to work, we followed a strict meal time and would eat at the same time each day. It is natural to relax meal times when at home in a lockdown. However, eating meals too late could throw up several health issues. Make sure you eat on time to be healthy.

3) Set Work Hours: You must set work hours. The tendesncy of people working from home is to either overwork or underwork! There is no normal. It is essential for you to put in the usual numbers of hours at work and very importantly not to exceed the limit. Follow a schedule else you will soon see that you don’t have any personal time.

4) Exercise: Exercise needs to be a very integral part of your lockdown routine. The lockdown has reduced our movement and we tend to sit for extended hours a day. This is very unhealthy. Make it a point to include weight training, skipping, spot jogging and yoga in your daily routine.

Keeping a healthy routine will help you become more productive and efficient in your day- to-day activities. Everyone in a household can benefit from having a daily routine even your children.

Get started with your routine NOW - The earlier the better!
